Previously On does not collect your data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your library stays on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud account.
Everything you track — your shows, watch cycles, audiences, and watch history — is stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud sync, that data is also stored in your iCloud account, in Apple's CloudKit private database. That storage belongs to you: the developer has no access to it and cannot read it. Apple's handling of it is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off at any time in the app's settings, and your data remains on your device.
To show episode listings, artwork, and streaming availability, the app requests show information from two third-party catalogues:
These requests contain only identifiers for the shows being looked up — for example, a series ID. They do not include your name, your account, a device identifier, your watch history, or anything else that identifies you. As with any internet request, those services will see your IP address; their own policies apply (TVmaze, TMDB).
If you import a file — for example a TV Time or Television Time export — it is read and processed entirely on your device. The file is not uploaded anywhere.
Deleting the app removes the data on your device. Data held in your iCloud account can be removed from within the app (Erase Library), which — with sync on — also removes it from iCloud and your other devices. You can also manage the app's iCloud storage in the Settings app under your Apple Account.
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date.
